Pitchfork Media - This Month in Techno. However, not much more in the article to gleam about the state of Techno in 2006 except an interesting thread about how localism plays a part in music's relevance to a listener/dancer/DJ. The auther realizes that he needs to be in the middle of it all in order to really
understand the music. I can understand his pain though: He moved back from Barcelona and is now hunkered down in Portland, Oregon in his parents basement, cut off from his records, music equipment and regular gigs. Ouch. I'm sure he feels like he was banished into some terrible form of musical Siberia.
But hey, come to LA! Better weather. Compression. Droid. C'mon - it isn't Spain and we don't have topless beaches, but that hasn't stopped
me from taking off my shirt.
